Local nonprofit Cy-Fair Helping Hands helps support the community’s homeless population and others in need through resources such as the food pantry located on-site at 7520 Cherry Park Drive, Ste. B, Houston.
Volunteers have served dozens of individuals throughout the coronavirus pandemic—even breaking records over the weekend.
Those in need can stop by the food pantry Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and the first and third Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Because of the uptick in clients at the food pantry, officials said donations of peanut butter, jelly, cereal, canned soups, canned tuna, canned vegetables, canned beans, spaghetti sauce and toilet paper are needed.
Additionally, the organization is partnering with the Houston Food Bank to host a mobile food pantry event April 11 at Calvary Community Church, 7550 Cherry Park Drive, Houston, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. To help protect volunteers and those picking up food, items will be distributed via drive-thru service and placed in vehicles’ trunks.
