Food pantry team members should be able to stand for an extended period of time, be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment and safely lift 25 – 30 lbs. We are looking for individuals who can commit to a regular schedule. We especially need bilingual Spanish and Vietnamese volunteers.
Days and shift times available are every Monday and/or Thursday. The 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month are also available. Shift hours are 9:00 am – 1:00 pm. Volunteers in our food pantry must be at least 16 years of age. If you’d like to stop by and try it out, join us Thursday, August 8th!
Administrative Assistant – Day Center
Use your admin/office talents to help the homeless and hungry in your community. We are seeking one-to-two individuals to assist with administrative needs on a Tuesday and/or Wednesday morning. Administrative tasks and duties will vary widely and typically involve confidential and/or time-sensitive information. Good organizational, people, spreadsheet and communication skills (verbal and written) are required.
Delivery Driver – From Pantry to Individuals
Drivers are needed to deliver food pantry items on a bi-weekly schedule to the homes of individuals who have no transportation or who physically cannot come to our pantry. Deliveries will be within a 7 – 12 mile radius from our location. This is a great opportunity for someone who may not have a lot of time to volunteer (you could do this over a lunch break), and/or enjoys building relationships and taking care of others.
Thursday, every other week, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Requirements: Volunteers must be able to commit to delivering on a regular schedule. Must be over 18. Must have own car and car insurance. Must be able to lift 20 lb boxes and in some cases, carry these boxes up steps.
Food Pick-Up Driver
Volunteers are needed to pick up food donations from neighboring grocery stores and deliver the food to our community food pantry no later than 9:30 am on a Monday or Thursday morning. Pick-up location(s) are typically within a 7 – 15 mile radius from our location. Must be able to lift heavy boxes of meat and produce. May be required to help weigh, sort and store food. Volunteers must be over 18 and have car insurance. If you have been looking for opportunities to volunteer in your community and prefer to get an early morning start, this is a great way to contribute! Some pick-ups may require a SUV or truck.
