CFHH is a 100% volunteer-powered organization. That means that each donation dollar goes further to help those in need. It also means that we need a lot of donated time and talent!

Volunteer Opportunities

All Cy-Fair Helping Hands volunteers should have the following skillset:

Ability to serve others with a logical, unemotional, yet compassionate heart

Ability to work respectfully, professionally, and in a Christ-like manner with everyone

Ability to follow established guidelines, policies, and procedures

Ability to maintain required client/staff boundaries

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Good work ethic with consistent attendance and punctuality

Office Manager

The Office Manager of Cy-Fair Helping Hands is responsible for the day-to-day operations of administrative activities. The Office Manager is a volunteer position and will work under the Executive Director’s direction to ensure the office’s needs are met promptly.

Commitment: 8 to 10 hours per week for at least one year.

Administrative Assistant

Administrative Assistant duties and responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. Supports Executive Directors (ED) and volunteers through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. Responsible for confidential and time-sensitive material. Reports to the Office Manager. Commitment 3 to 6 hours per week for at least 6 months. If interested in this position, email jean@cyfairhelpinghands.org for more details.


The Emergency Shelter Caseworker is responsible for assessing clients’ needs and determining eligibility for Emergency Shelter services provided by Cy-Fair Helping Hands. The end goal for the caseworker is to assist clients in increasing self-sufficiency, housing stability, and community connections. The Emergency Shelter Caseworker is a volunteer position and reports to the Executive Director, Homeless Initiatives. Commitment 4 to 8 hours per week for at least 1 year. Community Garden...

The Community Garden Helper would assist in maintaining the garden, harvesting, and delivering the produce. The produce from our Community Garden will supplement the non-perishables that we distribute to our clients in the pantry and the homeless on the streets. Food Pantry Clerk

The Food Pantry Clerk will assist with client registration for our community food pantry drive-thru distribution on Monday, Thursday, and the first and third Saturdays of the month from 9am-1pm.
